A free exhibition of original work by creative Scott Nunn.
Scott Nunn is a creative director, artist and photographer whose mission is to create “art to make you smile”.
Scott was diagnosed with the incurable blood cancer myeloma in September 2019. This prompted him to take up fine art after a period when he had been focused on commercial creative projects. While undergoing treatment, including two stem-cell transplants, he stared out of hospital windows at the skies and made plans to paint them when his strength returned. Later, with the myeloma in remission, he found further inspiration as he visited friends and travelled with his husband Tris.
Scott was born and grew up in South London, where he still lives. He studied art at St Martin’s College before completing a degree in graphic communication at the London College of Printing (now London College of Communication). He subsequently worked for a decade as a newspaper and magazine photographer before co-founding award-winning LGBTQ+ publisher Gay Star News. There, he helped create the world’s first Digital Pride event as well as the first LGBTQ+ campaigns for global brands including Snickers.
Cloud Illusions combines Scott’s love of painting in oils with an element of graphic illustration. For Scott, each painting in the Cloud Illusions series represents a particular moment in his myeloma journey, tinged with happiness and sadness. He hopes others will enjoy getting lost in the skies and find peace and hope in them.
Sales proceeds from Cloud Illusions go towards supporting the artist and funding public programmes in advancing and diversifying engagement in visual storytelling.
